FEDICE

The Chaupi community is located in the Cotopaxi province. FEDICE works with 32 families in this community, 30 of which are represented by women. In El Chaupi, farming can be risky, due to varying weather and prices, so FEDICE has been training women in the most cost-effective way to raise livestock. This includes training on how to purchase more productive livestock, grow grasses for feed, remove parasites, administer vaccines, vitamins, and how to breed. In addition to increased profits and productivity, raising livestock also provides fertilizer for crops and a source of protein to improve nutrition.
