7. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Sumak Ayllu (Great Family) is an organization made up of 13 families that belongs to the González Suárez parish of the Otavalo canton in the province of Imbabura. The group has been working with FEDICE since 2021 on a savings and credit project.

The 13 families have been working on projects to raise domestic animals and crops. For this new project, the group included 3 people who have been participating in the group, so there are currently 16 families that will work with FEDICE on the new project.

The Sumak Ayllu organization has complied with the institutional policies, regarding presence and participation in training, the timely payment of the reimbursable fund to FEDICE and the recovery of the organization's internal funds. Today they have $2,400, the same ones that are in the hands of the families as we re-lend, which allows us to continue working on a new project.

The organization of 16 families and FEDICE held a meeting in which they analyzed a new proposal, for which they requested a new reimbursable fund of $8,000 dollars, which will be distributed at $500 per family.

8. PROBLEM:

Inclement weather (droughts or prolonged winters), constant fluctuations in the prices of agricultural products, lack of financial resources and lack of knowledge about the proper management of animals and pastures cause a delay in livestock production and put their productivity at risk.
